Saturday saw the annual race between CCRC and Chichester Yacht Club with the winning team getting the Bramidge Trophy. The boats gathered on the start line in warm sunshine but almost no breeze. However, shortly after the PRO announced a short delay the sea breeze started to build. After a rerun start the 13 CCRC boats and 9 CYC boats started to beat out to the shipping channel and the breeze continued to strengthen to allow the full course of a “large triangle and sausage” to be sailed.
At CYC that evening after a splendid supper for all crews the result was announced as being a win for CCRC, so getting the Bramidge Trophy back from CYC.
